THE FOOL
WELL-DIGNIFIED:
NAIVETÉ This card symbolizes "the foolishness of the gods, which is greater
than the wisdom of mortals". The Fool is the Soul [in the Jungian sense] in
a tabula rasa state, about to embark on the journey of Life, as represented
in stages in the other Major Arcana cards, and is in a state of spiritual
innocence, yet containing the seed of cosmic wisdom. The Fool's journey is
frought with peril from the first step Š but are these perils terrible experiences
to be avoided or lessons to be learned?
The days drag out like weeds, sapping my life--plunging me
deeper into confusion, but understanding comes slowly. We both need to heal.
I hope that you love me, I hope that we will stay bright, that our hearts
will find the true path. We are not responsible for our feelings but we are
resposible for our actions. On the bus this morning all the love songs painted
a great story. I was crying until I began to notice that the trees were bare--leaves
clinging to the dead branches here and there. The deadness was so complete
until I realized that the same trees would bloom again, that leaves would
grow again, that spring would heal the dryness.
